 OUR REGION

Welcome to our beautiful region.

Our region has an exceptional setting and bathes in the generous light of the always present sun (over 300 days per year). It is known for its peace and quiet from the coast to the foothills of the Alpilles

Hyères les Palmiers offers you its islands Porquerolles, Port Cros, Le Levant, its peninsula of Giens, the Greek and Roman trading post of Olbia, its medieval town centre and its Victorian districts filled with a rich history that is still present, without forgetting la villa Noailles. You can discover the region’s vineyards and olive groves in a protected nature in the heart of the Provence. The quality of its water surface makes it a famous area for various sports activities, diving, sailing and water sliding sports. The town holds the labels of «Station Nautique» and «Pavillon Bleu»..

The peninsula of Giens.

The 6 km long peninsula of Giens is linked up to the continent by two land bridges that form the double longue Tombolo and that separates the two sea sides. The peninsula forms the most southern part of the côte d’azur. You’ll find the typical marinas of la Madrague, le Niel and of la tour Fondue as well as the village of Giens, situated at the highest point of the peninsula.

An exceptional destination for a holiday filled with visits and leisure for everyone: hikes, mountainbiking, visits through the beautiful landscapes.

This basin is one of the world’s most beautiful places

To the east of the Peninsula of Giens, a 27000 ha basin opposite the islands of Porquerolles, Port Cros and le Levant.
This basin is one of the world’s most famous spots for (professional) sailing, as several sailing contests are organised here, reuniting the best sailors. You can visit the sailor’s Tour de France à la Voile, the pre Olympic tests for various sports, the most famous contests with Hyères being a stop that is worth a visit, and admire the boat-races of the world’s most beautiful boats.
